When Summers Changed

Back in the days before computers and cellphones, kids made their fun, so Mindy Piper is good at finding things to do. Best of all is the 4th of July with the annual Kiddie Parade.

But this year, everything is different.

Mindy’s older brother, Brad, is too busy mowing lawns, and her younger brother, Toby, just gets into mischief. Mom has made promises to finish a job for her client and doesn’t have time for anything else, and Dad is on the road and won’t get home in time. When Mindy offers to babysit her little brother, she doesn’t have time to plan for the parade either.

That means the Piper family won’t be able to celebrate the 4th of July unless Mindy can figure out a way to save the day.
